IT Support: getting started

How is IT support organized?

On these pages you will find all information about how the IT services and infrastructures at MARUM are organised.

In order to access the MARUM IT web pages, you need to be on the MARUM internal network or dialed in via VPN.

This page provides you with some basic information if this is not the case.

As a first step, please contact your supervisor to get a MARUM account (e-mail address) via the administration. If you have a MARUM account, you can log in to the MARUM website and access the internal area.

The operational concept of the University of Bremen is that IT services are operated decentrally by the departments (organisationally MARUM is the research faculty of the University of Bremen). There are therefore no central responsibilities for all IT matters.

In general, each MARUM working group and institution is responsible for the operation and management of its own IT. Information can be obtained from your supervisor.

1st level support is provided by your working group and institution.

2nd level support and infrastructure operation is provided by MARUM IT.
