Research Project
As part of the 3rd Cohort of the ArcTrain, I will be working in the framework of project HB-08: Impacts of ocean-ice interactions on the Holocene sedimentary system in the western Baffin Bay , under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dierk Hebbeln (working group Marine Sedimentology ). I will focus on investigating the impact of the changing Baffin Bay paleoceanography and freshwater-ice influx through the connectivity to the Arctic Ocean and the retreating surrounding ice sheets on the Holocene sedimentation in the western Baffin Bay, using a series of sedimentological, geochemical, stratigraphical and micropaleontological methods on recently obtained sediment cores.
