INTERCOAST PhD Student, Ruggero Capperucci, Attends EGU 2013 in Vienna, 7-12 April

With more than 11,000 participants, the European Geosciences Union General Assembly (EGU2013, 7-12 April 2013, Vienna, Austria) is by far the largest event for geoscientists in Europe. Established in 2004, this annual meeting has grown over the years to the current - impressive! - numbers, gathering scientists from all over the world in Vienna. The program of the conference covers a wide spectrum of topics, from structural geology to planet and earth science, from hazards’ forecasting and geoethics to specific upgrades for teachers and scientific communicators.

Getting To Know The New INTERCOAST PhD Students: Franziska Hellmich and Jan Scheve Are Interviewed By the ICTeam

Starting on December 1, 2012, 13 new PhD projects commenced within the INTERCOAST programme at University of Bremen.
This second cohort of PhD students will carry on with similar or related research in the already existing research projects of their predecessors from the first phase of studies.

The 4th Annual INTERCOAST Workshop took place in Hamilton, New Zealand from February 18-28, 2013

The 2013 INTERCOAST workshop convened successfully from the 18th to 28th February, 2013, at institutions located in Tauranga and Hamilton in New Zealand. The annual INTERCOAST workshop provided an opportunity for 21 PhD students, their respective project leaders (supervisors), and Post-Docs from Germany and New Zealand alike to come together and reflect on past and present research efforts, and to develop new research ideas and projects in the framework of the INTERCOAST programme. The workshop commenced with a welcoming ceremony at the scenic and inspiring Sulphur Point in Tauranga Harbour, where welcoming speeches were given by Maori representatives, the German ambassador to New Zealand and New Zealand government officials, while the main body of the workshop was held at the University of Waikato campuses in Hamilton and Tauranga.
