PhD Project
EIS-CLIM : Solid Earth - Ice Sheet - Climate interaction in Northern Europe and Patagonia during the last deglaciation
EIS-CLIM is an international doctoral research project carried out through a close collaboration between the University of Bremen (Germany) and Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway). The focus of the project is to create a model through the coupling of separate models developed by research groups in Germany and Norway and apply it to reconstruct the deglaciation history in Northern Europe and Patagonia.
The coupled model will be calibrated against paleo glacial, paleoclimate and geophysical constraints to generate 4D model reconstructions of the ice sheet and climate changes and compute Glacial Isostatic Adjustment - induced perturbations in the stress and thermal regimes of the crust and underlying mantle. This international project allows for a comprehensive treatment of the entire climate - ice sheet - lithosphere - mantle system and a joint interpretation of the multidisciplinary data.
