"MARUM im Dialog" successfully launched

The new event format „Blickpunkt Meer – MARUM im Dialog“ ("Focus on the Sea - MARUM in Dialogue") has now been successfully launched with an event on the topic of "Climate Change and Biodiversity". Our environment and society are facing major changes in many respects. The broadest possible spectrum of fact-based information is essential in order to be able to deal with the constantly growing challenges in a well-founded and forward-looking manner. The aim of the event series is therefore to facilitate an open dialogue between representatives from politics, public administration, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), business and society with the scientific community on various sustainability topics currently under discussion.

Based on one of the core topics of the DFG Cluster of Excellence " Ocean Floor - Earth's Uncharted Interface", the theme of the first evening was "Climate Change & Biodiversity". The research project is working on this topic together with the Helmholtz Center for Functional Marine Biodiversity at the University of Oldenburg.

„Blickpunkt Meer – MARUM im Dialog“ is to be continued with a different topic before the summer break.
