As part of the research mission "Marine carbon sinks in decarbonisation pathways” of the German Marine Research Alliance (DAM), more than 200 researchers in six consortia have been investigating since August last year whether and to what extent the ocean and seafloor can play an important role in removing and storing CO2 from the atmosphere.

Fact sheets summarize the most important aspects of several aspects of the research and the upcoming research mission.

The factsheet on the AIMS³ consortium coordinated at MARUM is one of several factsheets on the research mission. All completed factsheets can be accessed on the CDRmare website
