Eocene atmospheric CO2 reconstructions, using the boron isotope proxy in planktonic foraminifera, have recently reached the understanding to provide confidence for higher resolution reconstructions within the Paleogene. Here, recent multi site CO2 reconstructions will be presented, extending from 55.5 to 34 Ma. These will be compared with sea surface temperature reconstructions, and benthic foraminifera oxygen and carbon isotopes, to identify drivers of cooling and atmospheric CO2 change, and potential feedback mechanisms.
