Dr. Antje Stahl

Dr. Antje Stahl is a postdoctoral research associate at Intertek Food Services located in the north of Bremen. She currently develops a method for fast identification of fish species, which includes the application of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry.

Antje joined the ‘International Degree Program Industrial and Environmental Biology’ (ISTAB) at the Hochschule Bremen in 2006, which included stays abroad in Canada and Poland. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in 2010 and started a Master of Science in ‘Marine Microbiology’ (MarMic) at the Max-Planck-Institute for Marine Microbiology in Bremen. During her Master Thesis at Jacobs University Bremen she got in touch with MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, which remained a methodical part of her subsequent PhD Thesis. A POLMAR scholar ship obtained from the Alfred-Wegener-Institute in Bremerhaven financed the PhD. In 2015, she received her PhD Degree from Jacobs University Bremen, again in the major ‘Marine Microbiology’.

In February 2016, she joined Intertek Food Services Bremen. The current field of work comprises laboratory based method development, validations, and representation of the project on conferences and fairs.
