Report of GLOMAR PhD student Anna Trampe about her research stay at the University of Lund, Sweden, from 2 November - 18 December 2009
The financial support of GLOMAR enabled me to spend almost two months at the Department of Quaternary Science at the University of Lund, southern Sweden.
The supervisor during this time was Prof. Dr. Svante Björck, who is the head of the Department of Quaternary Science.
Since many colleagues, like Prof. Dr. Svante Björck, Dr. Lena Adrielsson, Dr. Nicolaj Krog Larsen and Johanna Anjar, at the university of Lund are working in the Baltic Sea region too (which is the study area of my PhD project), I benefited from their expertise and was able to thoroughly discuss my own data. These discussions helped to improve the discussion sections of the 1st and 2nd paper.
Furthermore, I was able to acquire various copies of papers, relevant to my own work, which are not digitally available or accessible in other reasonable ways.
While staying at Lund, I was able to contact Prof. Dr. Tom Flodén (retired, formerly University of Stockholm, Sweden). He contributed to my project by sharing some of his own seismic data from the area of Hanø Bay / Bornholm Basin (additional data for the 2nd paper).
My research stay in Lund was fruitful and I would like to thank GLOMAR for the financial support.
