AGU Joint Assembly

May 3 – 7, 2015, Montreal, Canada

Such a multidisciplinary conference is a great way to get input and feedback from scientists you may not normally meet. I presented a poster of my current work (a deglacial chronology of the Baffin Bay) as part of the special session on Labrador Sea and Baffin Bay paleoclimate. Such a region-specific session of course attracts specialists. I made some great contacts that I will no doubt call on in the not-so-distant future for their expertise and opinions. I heard some really interesting talks coming at paleoclimatic research in this region from modelling, physical oceanography, geochemistry and ecological perspectives. I also attended an informative meeting on upcoming and planned research cruises in the area, got to meet up with some of our Canadian PhDs, Post-Docs and PI’s and for the first time out of three visits, enjoy a warm and sunny Montreal!
