Tour of the MS Wissenschaft starts

In May, the tour of the exhibition ship MS Wissenschaft will start as part of the Science Year 2022. Also on board is an interactive exhibit from MARUM - Center for Marine Environmental Sciences at the University of Bremen, where interested visitors accompany a team during an expedition. They dive to the ocean floor with the diving robot and explore the many secrets in the deep sea. Researchers from various scientific disciplines are working together on a research vessel - and from the results they are constantly crystallizing new causes for inquiry.

The theme of the Year of Science 2022 is "Nachgefragt” – Inquiry in English: citizens are invited to pose their personal questions to science. In the free exhibition onboard the MS Wissenschaft, they can dive into in very different areas of research: for example, astrophysics, linguistics or marine research. The focus is not only on the topics, but above all on how scientists work, their process of research and how the system of science functions.

The barge MS Wissenschaft tours across Germany, starting in May with stops in Berlin and Brandenburg. It then travels through Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia to southern Germany.
