Santander Group visited MARUM

On April 22, a high-ranking delegation of the Santander Consumer Bank AG visited the University of Bremen and the MARUM. Following a guided tour through the marine research center there was a presentation on the status of the projects at the University funded by Santander.

On his guided tour, MARUM director Prof. Michael Schulz explained some aspects of current research and underwater technology to the Santander representatives. After the presentation of funded projects the guests had the opportunity to meet five of the sponsored students.

In 2013 the University of Bremen and the Santander Consumer Bank AG entered into a cooperative agreement with the aim of supporting the development of interdisciplinary “Welcome Centres” for international scientists at the University of Bremen. Furthermore, Santander provides ten Deutschlandstipendien (German Scholarships) for students at the University of Bremen and ten additional scholarships for foreign students.
