Scientific ROV missions differ significantly from those in the oil and gas industry and place special demands on ROV pilots in terms of planning, loading capacity or operating areas. The EurofleetsPlus ROV Lab will address these issues in a workshop. The next workshop will take place from 19 to 21 November 2019 at MARUM – Center for Marine Environmental Sciences at the University of Bremen.

The workshop is aimed at ROV technicians and pilots who want to deepen their experience and knowledge, but also at participants without previous knowledge. The contents of the course include practical exercises with remotely operated underwater vehicles in the MARUM-Quest Simulator and in the diving pool with ROV MARUM-SQUID as well as theoretical parts, for example on dive preparation and mobilization.

Registration is open until 7 October. The course is free of charge. Travel expenses and accommodation up to 400€ can be reimbursed.

The workshop is organized as part of the EurofleetsPlus project funded by the European Commission. To this end, marine research institutes and, for example, operators of research vessels have formed an alliance, including the University of Bremen.
