70 ocean floor experts visiting MARUM

In the framework of the Cluster of Excellence "The Ocean Floor - Earth's Uncharted Interface", MARUM is hosting the "Ocean Floor Symposium" from October 9 to 12.

Under the title "Understanding element fluxes – processes and budgets" 70 scientists will meet at MARUM, both international experts and members of the Cluster of Excellence. The symposium brings together invited participants from all career levels and provides a platform for the exchange and discussion of scientific results on ocean floor processes.

Lectures and poster presentations will focus on the three main scientific topics: "From Ocean to Sediments", "Geodynamic Controls" and "Interactions between Geosphere and Biosphere".

In the future, the symposium will be held every two years on varying topics.
