The University of Bremen will be the venue of the 83rd Annual Meeting of the German Geophysical Society (Deutsche Geophysikalische Gesellschaft – DGG) in March. The event is hosted by the Department of Geosciences and MARUM – Center for Marine Environmental Sciences at the University of Bremen.  

After 17 years, the geophysicists of the DGG will meet for the second time for their annual conference in Bremen to exchange information about current scientific results, methods, projects and much more. In addition to the established topics, the geophysicists of the University of Bremen will present their current geophysical research activities in focus topics on "(Marine) Natural Disasters", "Renewable Energies", "Geophysics for the Exploration of the Rapidly Changing Polar Regions" and "Tectonics and Dynamics of Spreading Axes".

As part of the meeting, there will be a public lecture (in German) at the Haus der Wissenschaft Bremen that interested parties can attend online; the on-site visit is already fully booked.
