In the evolving landscape of scholarly research, the need for efficient information extraction and research data management has never been more critical. This seminar aims to showcase an innovative ecosystem that leverages Natural Language Processing (NLP), machine learning approaches to facilitate the extraction, linking and modelling of information by targeting heterogeneous data components of scientific publications. The participants will gain insights into the state-of-the-art methodologies for entity recognition, linking and constructing heterogeneous information network to further elaborate the complex relationships and patterns within large volumes of research data. Furthermore, the seminar will address the challenges and discuss the potential solutions associated with harmonizing the research data across multiple studies, enabling researchers to identify similarities and discrepancies by presenting study conducted on Marine Science. This eco-system could be beneficial for effective data stewardship, which upholds the integrity, accessibility, and reusability of research outputs to contribute to open science.
