Frequently asked questions

Can I keep samples for further not yet planned analyses?

No, all unused sample material and residuals are to be returned with a complete documentation of the performed analyses. You may however submit a new sample request for further analyses with the material you already have worked on.

Can I submit requests for future sediment trap deployments?

Why not? Get in contact with the management team!

I am not working at MARUM. Can I still request samples?

If you are not a resident scientist and want to work on MARUM sediment trap samples we expect you to find a local collaboration partner. Have a look at the main user group in the team section or approach one of the management team.

Can I request samples for desctructive analyses?

The destructive nature of any planned analyses has to be mentioned in the sample request and the decision whether these analyses might be performed will be made by the management team.

Can the samples be shipped?

In case of a local sample request by a resident scientist, we expect you to pick the samples up personally. In case of an external sample request we will hand over the samples to your local collaboration partner.
