Core Temperature Measurements
Temperature is measured shortly after recovery of the cores. When the core is cut into core sections (1.5m), the temperature is measured on the fresh cut section breaks. An infrared thermometer (Ebro, type TFI 250) is used to non-destructively determine the sediment temperature in °C. The measurement range is from -60°C to +550°C with a resolution of 0.1°C.
