On 4 May 2015, GLOMAR PhD student Gopika Suresh was one of three early career scientists to be the MARUM Research Award 2015 for her PhD Thesis „Offshore oil seepage from space: A Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) based automatic detection, mapping and quantification system".
