Dr. Connie Walther

Dr. Connie Walther studied physics at the University of Leipzig. For her diploma thesis she specialized in synoptical meteorology, studying the orographical effects on precipitation in the Erzgebirge. She was employed at the AWI Potsdam where she wrote her PhD-thesis about Atmospheric Circulation in Antarctica in which she analised synoptic structures via measurement and regional climate model.

Connie got employed at the Geoinformation Service of Deutsche Marine as meteorologist and is currently training for her licence for the air weather service. Her duties will include weather forcasts for airplanes and helicopters as well as for naval vessels. The Geoinformation Service of Deutsche Marine also provides oceanographical services such as CTD-profiles and forcasts.
