In the Marine Geotechnics research group we refine and/or develop from scratch versatile instruments that span shallow waters all the way into the deep sea (6000 m depth rating). A special focus is on cone penetrometers, in situ T measurements, and monitoring of sediment physical parameters that govern slope stability and its relation to seismicity.

The majority of the instruments we use have been developed partly or completely in the Marine Geotechnics research group. However, whenever possible we team up with small innovative enterprises to maximize the benefits from these developments. Examples of such collaborations are Antares, develogic, Fielax, GEOMIL or nke.
