Research Topics
The main focus of our research is the development and construction of innovative observing systems allowing an environmentally sustainable monitoring in the deep sea. The excellent technological networking practices in the ocean research and the exchange of international scientific competence and ideas at MARUM will enhance the deep sea engineering sector.
Our research group relies on its close cooperation with the Marine Technology headed by Prof. Wefer and benefits from the existing technological development and know-how, especially regarding operational experience in the extreme conditions dominating in the deep sea.
