RV Meteor M108 - July 2014

SeaPump joined the National Oceanographic Centre in Southampt on the RV Meteor to study the processes controlling the export flux and the cycling of nitrogen and carbon within settling aggregates. The ship cruise was carried out at the British long-term monitoring station Porcupine Abyssal Plain (PAP). The PAP observatory was started oin 1989 with the establishment of a long-term sediment trap mooring and a programme characterising biogeochemical cycling and faunal variations on the ocean seafloor.
