Contract matters

A number of documents, forms, and links for daily use are distributed on servers throughout the university. The most important of these are offered here, including procurement, travelling, rebooking, etc.

We are happy to accept further important information so that we can make it available to everyone.

Generally, only the Chancellor can provide legally binding signatures for the University of Bremen in EU contracts. Signatures for other contracts and agreements are made by the director of MARUM.

All contracts must be checked in advance by the legal department. The result of the examination must be submitted together with the documents to be signed.

When submitting contracts to the legal department, the following points must be specified in the cover letter:

1.) Project leader: Usually the university professor who is responsible for the application.

2.) Deadlines: If there are deadlines for feedback / contract conclusion, please clearly indicate the deadline

3.) Notes / comments / special features known to those involved in the project (in particular: are patents / patent applications used? Is open source used? Are students or doctoral candidates (as third parties) involved in the research project? Are associated partners involved? Is there an interest in confidentiality? Are devices provided? Is the civil clause affected? etc.)

In addition, if applicable, the following must be submitted:

4.) Proposal / application / project description / offer of the funding / cooperation / the order is based on

5.) Notification of grant / grant agreement / funding conditions, if the background of the contract is funding and in this context preliminary contracts have already been concluded or funding conditions are used.

6.) If we are being commissioned by a contract / subcontract: cost calculation.

7.) If we have commissioned by contract / subcontract: Reference to obtaining three offers in accordance with procurement law or a waiver by Mr. Seliger, declaration / evidence that the funds to be disbursed are available, if applicable, information on the blocking / unblocking of funds
