Gears on expeditions
The MARUM can provide the following equipment for geological sampling trips:
Gravity corer (GC, different sizes of weight carriers and casing pipes).
Multicorer (MUC, with different numbers and diameters of pipes)
Giant boxcorer (GBC, with boxes with a side length of 500mm, front side removable)
Minicorer (MIC, with four tubes)
Multi-net, Midi model (Hydro Bios):
The Multinet is used for plankton sampling in the water column and is equipped with five net bags that can be released at different depth intervals. Net bags with different mesh sizes ( 64µm, 100µm, 200µm ) are available for sampling.
The maximum operating depth of the multi-net is 3000 m.

Consumables
The consumables include the material for the geological sampling equipment (gravity corer, multicorer, giant boxcorer) as well as the materials for standard sampling in the ship's own laboratory (D-tubes, syringes, tape, felt pens and a core saw if gravity cores are to be opened).
The consumables are invoiced according to the core metres obtained or the number of samples via equipment-specific flat rates for multicorer and gravity corer. Details can be found on the MARUM website.
