Tsungming Tu Award

At a ceremony to mark the 10th Tsungming Tu Award, Prof. Dr. Gerhard Bohrmann has now received the Award in the library of the National University of Taiwan. The prize is awarded jointly by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Taiwan and is Taiwan's highest academic award for foreign researchers. Gerhard Bohrmann receives this prize for his groundbreaking research work in the deep sea, especially to methane hydrates. Similar to the Alexander von Humboldt Prize, the awardees receive prize money in the amount of 75,000 US dollars for research stays in Taiwan in the coming years.
