50 years ago Jacques Picard reached a depth of nearly 11 kilometres onboard his diving vehicle „Trieste”. On the occasion of that anniversary Prof. Gerhard Bohrmann reviews the progress that has since been made in the field of scientific diving technologies on the radio.
