Visit the German research vessel MARIA S. MERIAN on September, 21th and 22th, in Bremen! Admission free!

When?
Saturday, September 21th11 am – 5 pm, gangway will close at 4 pm
Sunday, September 22th9 am – 3 pm, gangway will close at 2 pm

Getreidehafen, am Getreidespeicher, entrance for visitors next to Pier 2

Program

Enjoy a very diverse program: a guided tour of the ship, activities for children, movies and lectures, exhibitions and much more. You can have a look at the bridge, the hangar and the working deck. In the labs and on deck you will find measuring instruments and sampling devices. Get in contact with scientists from the Center for Marine Environmental Sciences (MARUM), the Institute of Environmental Physics at the University of Bremen (IUP), the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology (MPI), the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (AWI), and the Jacobs University.

How to find the ship

You will find the research vessel in the port Getreidehafen, the entrance for visitors (= "Besuchereingang" highlighted in red on the map) can be found at the end of the Gröpelinger Fährweg, next to Pier 2.

You can travel by tram (No. 3 direction Gröpelingen), get off at "Use Akschen" station, then walk towards the shopping mall "Waterfront", turn left into AG-Weser-Straße. This street ends in the Gröpelinger Fährweg.
