Methane in wetlands

Together with colleagues from the University of Georgia, MARUM scientists explored the microbial decomposition of methane in different wetlands in the USA. Their findings, now published in the online journal Nature Communications, show, that a large part of the greenhouse gas produced in these areas is again degraded microbially.
