Federal Research Minister Anja Karliczek has visited Bremen. Together with Eva Quante-Brandt, she met with Antje Boetius, Director of the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research, and MARUM Director Michael Schulz to discuss current issues regarding the changing Earth system. Michael Schulz gave an overview of regional cooperation in marine research and emphasized the "great role of robotics and digitization in deep sea research". The aim of Mrs Karliczek's tour through the federal states is to establish direct contact with the researchers.
