What happens before earthquakes occur? An IODP mission on the drill-vessel CHIKYU has set out to recover and install long-term observatories off the coast of Japan. Prof. Dr. Achim Kopf, researcher at MARUM, is Co-chief of the expedition. A film team accompanied the crew onboard.
