Prof. Gerhard Bohrmann is awarded the Gustav Steinmann Medal by the German Geological Society - Geological Association (DGGV). The medal is the oldest award of the DGGV and has been awarded annually since 1938. The medal honors the marine geological work of Gerhard Bohrmann in the interdisciplinary exploration of the deep sea. Especially the work on methane hydrates as well as cold and hot springs are emphasized by the laudators.
