The research group "Proteogenomics of Marine Polysaccharide Degradation" (POMPU) is further funded by the German Research Foundation. In the research network, scientists - also from MARUM - work together in an interdisciplinary and inter-locational way to investigate mechanisms of bacterial polysaccharide degradation in marine ecosystems. The focus is on multiple sugar compounds formed by algae. The group is coordinated at the University of Greifswald and the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology Bremen.
