An international team of scientists led by Prof. Tim Bralower, Penn State University, gathered at the IODP Bremen Core Repository. The researchers are sampling new sediment cores that were drilled in northwestern Tunesia. This El Kef section documents the transition from the Cretaceous to the Paleogene and a major asteroid impact 66 million years ago. more...
