The German Research Foundation (DFG) is funding the ArcTrain Research Training Group at MARUM for a further four years. Twelve doctoral students will be funded until 2022 with the 3.5 million euros that the DFG has now approved for the extension of this research group. Together with colleagues from Canada, they will experience and learn about the Arctic on location at land and sea. Internationality is the particular strength of the college,"says Professor Michal Kucera, spokesperson of ArcTrain. Through research stays at partner universities, young researchers gain access to the expertise of our Canadian partners and expand their academic networks.
