My research project investigates the degradation kinetics of dinocyst assemblages using in-situ and laboratory exposure experiments , and on longer-time scales several paleo-environmental settings.

This project supports the effort to quantify i) total organic matter degradation kinetics at the sediment water interface and ii) the degradation factors of dinocyst species/groups.

Exposure experiments are deployed in the Cap Blanc region, NW Africa. Paleo-environmental study regions span the Maderia Abyssal Plain, and the Discovery Basin in the eastern Mediterranean.
