Research
I studied geophysics in Hamburg where I did my Bsc thesis on vibration measurements on Dopper-radar-antenna-systems (for volcanic eruptions) and then became interested in Glaciology and numerical modelling which lead to my Msc thesis on viscoelastic modelling of grounding line migration. For my PhD I developed a model for subglacial hydrology applicable for large-scale studies.
Currently I am working on simulating the evolution of the large ice sheets from the last glacial maximum to present day within the PalMod project.
