Gas Hydrates

Gas hydrates are an ice-like mixture of methane and water, that forms under high pressure at low temperatures. Huge amounts lie at the sea floor.

Gas hydrates are the specialty of Prof. Gerhard Bohrmann, hero of the science thriller "The Swarm" by Frank Schätzing.

When pressure lessens or temperature rises gas hydrates dissolve and about 160 liters of methane per liter gas hydrate are set free.

Gladly we will provide you with more information, higher resolution and/or further pictures.
We can also offer spectacular video material from gas hydrates in high resolution.
