Welcome
The 24th International Meeting on Organic Geochemistry (IMOG), the official biennial conference of the European Association of Organic Geochemists (EAOG) and largest international event in this discipline, will be held in Bremen, Germany,
from September 6 to 11, 2009.
The conference will cover a wide range of topics from Biogeochemistry to Petroleum Geochemistry. The conference venue is the spacious and modern Bremen Congress Centre in downtown Bremen and close to hotels + restaurants.
About 80 oral presentations will be selected from an expected several hundred submissions and presented in the traditional IMOG format, consisting of plenary sessions in the morning and two parallel topical sessions in the afternoon.
Short courses by world experts and moderated discussion forums during extended lunch breaks will again be a feature of the meeting and stimulate interactions among delegates. We expect that more than 500 posters will be displayed continuously throughout the week, providing ample time for in-depth discussion of the most recent scientific achievements.
The deadline for submission of abstracts will be in early 2009. Field trips to the nearby tidal flats in the Wadden Sea, to the Harz Mountains and to the Upper Cretaceous Chalk of Lägerdorf will provide a glimpse of Northern German geology and the contrasting landscapes in this part of the world.
For accompanying partners, we will offer a rich cultural experience during our social program that includes a visit to the medieval district of Bremen, and trips to the harbour town of Bremerhaven, the artist village Worpswede, and more.
We look forward to welcoming you in Bremen.
