Coordinating scientific data integration in National, European and international research projects, data infrastructures and networks of excellence.
  • Assistant to the scientific director of EUR-OCEANS (2004-2008) CNRS - Laboratoire d'Océanographie de Villefranche, France
Coordinating the flow of data from field scientists to data managers and then to modellers by establishing 1) guidelines and templates for data archival; 2) funding programmes for data rescue and transformation; 3) meeting of experts to address the consistency of plankton data; 4) training courses in manual and automated plankton identification; and 5) networks of relevant scientific equipment (e.g. HPLC, Flow Cytometer, Microscopy, ZooScan) to encourage a continuous flow of data.
  • Post-Doctoral Fellow (2002-2004)The University of Western Australia
Project 1. Leading the phytoplankton production and vertical flux components for a three-year research programme on the coast of Western Australia, under the lead of the Commonwealth Science & Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). Project Leader: Dr Tony Koslow
Project 2.Leading a team for the study of the vertical flux and metabolic control of sinking in diatoms, as part of a research programme off Mawson station (Antarctic) to study the ecosystem of the krill under the lead of the Australian Antarctic Division; Project Leader : Dr Steve Nicol
