Responsibilities:

Our task at the IODP Bremen Core Repository (BCR) is to store, preserve and manage the collection of well over 100 km of deep-sea core material collected over several decades by the DSDP, ODP, and IODP programs, and to provide samples to the scientific community worldwide for diverse research projects. Our collection comprises all sediment and hard-rock cores from the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans and the Mediterranean Sea.

Short CV:

  • Mar. 1994 – Present: Superintendent ODP/IODP Bremen Core Repository.
  • From Jan. 1992: Bremen University, PhD candidate.
  • Jan. 1986 – Jan. 1992: Biostratigrapher, Chevron Oil Co. (Exploration), New Orleans, La., USA.
  • 1985: East Carolina University – M.S. degree Geology (Application of a Regression Model in the Determination of Post-Mortem Transport of Foraminiferal Tests).
