The Amazing Profmobil
The Profmobil
Conceived by an astute mind and designed by students from the University of the Arts Bremen, the Profmobil has been frequently deployed within the scope of public relations for the Research Centre Ocean Margins, and has often caused a public sensation.
The Science Rickshaw reflects the Bremen concept of Science dissemination: it is exceptional, attracts great attention wherever it appears, and is versatile in its application, for instance, within the framework of science meetings, conferences, or outdoor presentations, with audiences made up of students, teachers or the interested public. Furthermore, the Profmobil has been granted the IF Design Award.
The Profmobil is most suitable for short lectures - 15 minutes in length - and subsequent discussion with audiences of 30 to 50 people. Its components include a speaker, a monitor, and a laptop connection, and it is quickly assembled.
The mobile science corner has proven itself: for example, in Bonn, March 2004, when Bremen/Bremerhaven won a prestigious submission and was proclaimed "City of Science 2005", and in Stockholm, August 2004, when the Profmobil drew attention not only from Stockholm residents but also from the media.
The magazine SCIENCE, the newsmagazine DER SPIEGEL, the BERLINER newspaper, DIE ZEIT, and several papers from Sweden and Poland have reported on the Profmobil in words and pictures.
