AUV Seal 5000
The AUV is currently my main project. To maintain and operate the AUV on different research vessels is my task as well as the integration of sensors. We integrate a new sidescan sonar and a sub bottom profiler with the related computers for data aquisition during spring 2009. Also the optimization of the system and of the data quality is a permanent task.

DOLAN
Until April 2008 was the work at the DOLAN Buoy my main task. The Buoy has been finally recovered on the Cruise Po365 with the research vessel Poseidon after the end of the european integrated project MERSEA.

NICO
We test the performance of an optical nitrate sensor in the frame of the NICO project. This project is a cooperation with the manfacturer of the sensor the TriOS GmbH in Oldenburg, the IFM-GEOMAR and the Hochschule Bremerhaven. The project is founded for three years by the BMBF.
The sensor uses the light absorption in the UV range without any wet chemical processes. It is currently used in the indutry and it is adapted to the requirements of the marine research within the NICO project.
The task of the MARUM is the test of the sensor on ROV's, AUV, and in moorings.
Additional features like the detection and analysis of cold fluid seeps on the sea floor with this online-UV-spectrometer on the ROV shall be identified and investigated. The project ends in August 2009.
