Remotely Operated Vehicle QUEST

QUEST dives up to 4,000 meters deep, each time returning with valuable scientific data as well as with and fantastic pictures and videos.

The upper part of the robot is reserved for its own locomotion and control, on the tool sled the scientific payload is carried. The yellow frame was designed to assure secure handling even in rougher weather.

Almost fragile: This impression of QUEST next to the much bigger Meteor is easily disproved when the handling is watched from up close.

Before a dive, a thourough pre-dive check is performed. The right hand picture shows arms and eyes of QUEST.

QUESTs payload is up to 250 kilogramms scientific equipment or samples from the seafloor. Its arms are controlled from the ship.
