The GLOMAR Research Training Programme
The GLOMAR research training programme is designed to ensure optimum conditions for doctoral candidates in pursuing their PhD. It provides a unique discipline-specific and interdisciplinary training that ensures that all research postgraduates acquire the research skills and competencies necessary to complete their research theses.
The research training programme comprises:
- A diverse course programme,
- Monthly research seminars,
- External research experiences,
- The Bremen PhD Days in Marine Sciences,
- Active participation in international scientific conferences, and
- Early self-responsibility in competition for additional funding

A GLOMAR certificate is awarded to every student who has completed her/his Ph.D. and passed the full training programme (see also GLOMAR curriculum).
