PANGAEA - Publishing Network for Geoscientific and Environmental Data

It is possible to publish datasets independently of scientific publications. It is a precondition that the scientific and technical quality of these data are efficient and they are documented in an additional text. Each data publication received a persistent DOI (Digital Object Identifier), in conjunction with a publication already common. Citations are available through the catalog of the German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB) (example). PANGAEA guarantes long-term availability of scientific primary data related to publications.
