Project

The project is part of the SENSEnet program, an Initial Training Network within the Marie Curie Actions of the European Commission framework. SENSEnet is aimed towards the development of series of novel sensors for the marine environment.
The purpose of my research is to quantify submarine gas bubble emissions from the seafloor using hydroacoustic methods. This can bring standard procedures for integration of multiple sensors into the system such as remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). The effort to quantify a greenhouse gas (e.g. methane) emisions from the seafloor would help to better understand processes in a deep marine environment and estimate their impact on the whole ecosystem.
