RESEARCH INTERESTS
As a marine biologist with broad scientific background
I enjoy working as sssociate scientist for the Bremen International Graduate School for Marine Sciences (GLOMAR).
My general curiosity about "how does the ocean function?" leads to a broad field of research interests covering:
Phytoplankton photophysiology,
Ecological impacts on marine photosynthesis
(bottom up by light/ nutrients and top down by grazing )
Implications of primary poduction processes for marine/coastal carbon dynamics
Currently, I am working with Christian Winter (MARUM) on coastal ecosystem modelling using DELFT3D WAQ with respect to phytoplankton dynamics and their response to changing light and nutrient conditions.
Member of the organizing committe of the Excellence Cluster Conference, held in Bremen October 4-5 2011
