April 2011 – present:
PhD Student at MARUM – Bremen University, CESAM and UGM – LNEG, Portugal. Thesis theme: Temporal distribution of cold-water corals on the North Atlantic through the Late Quaternary: footprint of intermediate water mass circulation.

September 2005 – December 2008:
Master in Marine Biology, at University of Lisbon, Portugal. Thesis theme: Internesting behavior of olive ridley sea turte Lepidochelys olivacea (Eschscholtz, 1829) in Sergipe, Brazil

September 1997 – October 2002:
Licenciatura Degree in Animal Biology – Terrestrial Animals Variant (4 years coursework + 1 year research project), at University of Lisbon. Thesis theme: Tartarugas de água doce – Mauremys leprosa e Emys orbicularis: uma abordagem preliminar para um plano de conservação (included collaboration with ICNB on the Red List Book revision)
