Frank Schätzing visited MARUM

Recently the German bestseller author Frank Schätzing visited MARUM. He and Prof. Gerhard Bohrmann were interviewed about science and fiction in Schätzing`s science fiction thriller “The Swarm”. The documentary will be aired on Arte TV later later this year.


MARUM Research Award

Expo 2010 in Shanghai

On May 1st the Expo 2010 will be opened in Shanghai. As part of the Bremen booth MARUM exhibits underwater vehicles and deep sea videos. What else private companies and scientific institutions plan to contribute was presented during a media conference which took place on March 3rd.


A surprise in the deep ocean

Together with colleagues from the US MARUM researchers Dierk Hebbeln and Mahyar Mohtadi investigated the exchange of carbon dioxide between ocean and atmoshpere in the past. Nature Geoscience publishes their results in its March edition.
